Towing Calls We Get in East Peoria

East Peoria is right across the river from downtown, and I-74 cuts through the north half of town. US 150 rides along Main Street. Then there's Camp Street. US 24, IL 29, IL 116 and US 150 all share it, and the signs say east and west on the same stretch of pavement. We've seen drivers from out of town circle it twice. Locals just laugh.

  • Interstate stalls: cars and SUVs dead on I-74 or the Murray Baker Bridge, moved with flatbed towing
  • Camp Street bumps: rear-enders and lane-change scrapes in the Camp Street tangle, cleared with accident towing
  • Loading docks: box trucks and work vans that quit at a dock, moved with medium-duty towing
  • Parking lot lockouts: keys left inside at the Levee District or the Par-A-Dice lot, opened with roadside assistance
  • Hillside slides: cars that slid off a wet or icy bluff road, pulled back up with a winch-out

Stalled on the Murray Baker Bridge

The Murray Baker Bridge carries I-74 over the river, almost 68,000 vehicles a day, with no shoulders at all. Stop there and you're parked in a traffic lane. Standing next to your car on that bridge is like standing on the free-throw line at a Bradley game while the other team runs the court: nobody means to hit you.

So don't get out. Belt on, hazards on, call 911, then call us. Tell dispatch which way you were heading so the truck comes up behind you instead of across the river. Scott's Law makes passing drivers move over for our flashing lights, and we still set up behind your car before anybody steps out.

Types of Towing We Offer in East Peoria

We ran about 3,900 calls in 2025, and East Peoria sent us more of them than any other town outside Peoria. Roughly one in four of those calls all year needed no tow at all. Here's what the rest looked like, in the order they usually come in.

Accident Towing on I-74 and Camp Street

Illinois law says that after a fender bender with no injuries, you may move your car to a safe spot, and if it blocks a lane you should make every reasonable effort to get it moved. When the car can't drive, that's our job. We pull it out of the lane, pick up the broken glass and trim, and take it to your body shop or to storage. Quick, then careful.

Roadside Assistance for Lockouts and Dead Batteries

AAA helped more than four million locked-out drivers in a single year, so don't feel bad. We open doors with a slim jim, a thin strip of spring steel that works the door rods without touching the lock. Dead batteries get a jump box we clip right on, so there's no hunting for a second car in the Par-A-Dice lot at midnight.

Box Truck and Medium-Duty Towing

East Peoria is home to many Caterpillar sites and the shops around them, so work vans and box trucks are part of the daily mix. The GVWR on the door sticker, the most the truck can weigh loaded, tells us which wrecker to send. One we remember: a box truck with a dead clutch, parked at a loading dock, moved out on our medium-duty truck before the next shift needed the bay.

Flatbed Towing Across the Bob Michel Bridge

The Bob Michel Bridge carries IL 40 from the East Peoria shopping area to the Civic Center downtown, and it's the quickest way to most Peoria repair shops. All-wheel-drive cars and EVs ride across on a flatbed. We'd rather send the bigger truck than argue about a transfer case later, the gearbox that splits power front and back and hates being dragged.

Long-Distance Towing From East Peoria

Moving a car to Bloomington, Champaign or farther east is a straight run on I-74. Long trips are priced by the loaded mile, usually $3 to $5 a mile in 2026, and the car rides on a flatbed the whole way. We give you the whole trip price, mile count included, on the first call.

Tow Truck Prices in East Peoria for 2026

Most tows inside East Peoria cost $95 to $150 in 2026. Most East Peoria addresses sit 3 to 5 road miles from a downtown Peoria repair shop, which fits inside the 5 to 7 miles the hook-up covers, so a tow across the river usually costs the same as a tow across town.

Floodplain, Bluffs and Festival Traffic in East Peoria

East Peoria grew up on a swampy floodplain. Its early name, Fondulac, means bottom of the lake. When the Illinois River hits 24 feet on the Peoria gauge, water covers some city streets. On April 17, 2013, the flood stranded cars and soaked hillsides gave way in mudslides. Pumping near the train yard starts once the river passes 16.7 feet, so low streets there are the first to watch in a wet spring.

Above the flats, the Festival Wreath sits on top of Fon du Lac Drive, and the bluff roads up there turn slick fast in sleet. From late November into the first week of January, the Festival of Lights brings about 25,000 visitors through the Winter Wonderland drive-through. Every year we jump a few batteries in that line. People idle with the heater and radio on for an hour, and an old battery can't keep up.

The November 17, 2013 tornado damaged more than 400 vehicles in East Peoria before it hit Washington. With 22,484 people, Illinois Central College on the northeast edge and the casino on the river, the city stays busy all year. We also cover towing in Washington, the next town up US 24.

East Peoria Tow Truck and Roadside Help

Sending a Tow Truck: East Peoria Pickups

Street, closest cross street, car make. On I-74, the nearest exit and your direction will do. We'll ask about all-wheel drive so the right truck shows up the first time.

Roadside Assistance East Peoria Drivers Call For

Battery failures, flat tires and lockouts top AAA's list of roadside calls, and East Peoria matches it. Most take one visit and no tow. A battery past three years old is worth a test before the first hard freeze.

Accident Towing: East Peoria, IL Crashes

If anyone is hurt, stay at the scene and call 911 first; leaving an injury crash is a felony in Illinois. Once police clear it, we tow the car to the body shop you pick.

Why Peoria Drivers Call Peoria Premier Towing

We're a small family crew with six trucks, and we'd rather keep a customer for twenty years than make an extra $40 on one tow. Here is what that looks like on a call.

  • Towing in Peoria Since 2009

Wes bought his first rollback in 2009 after eleven years wrenching on trucks. The crew still works off the same rule: fix it on the spot if we can, tow it right if we can't.

  • Tow Prices Quoted Before We Roll

Think of the menu taped in a diner window: you know what breakfast costs before you sit down. You hear one number on the phone, and that's the bill.

  • Flatbed Tow Trucks for AWD and Electric Cars

Four of our six trucks are flatbeds. Your all-wheel drive, electric or lowered car rides on the deck with all four wheels off the road.

  • 24 Hour Towing With Honest ETAs

We answer every hour of every day. During a storm the wait gets longer for everyone, so we tell you the real number and text if it moves.

  • Damage-Free Towing With Photos

Soft straps on the wheels, never chains on the frame, and photos of all four sides before we load. You get the pictures if you want them.

  • Roadside Help Without the Tow

About one call in four ends with a jump, a spare or a few gallons of gas. If that's all you need, that's all you pay for.

What Peoria Drivers Say About Our Towing

A few notes customers sent after the truck left.

  • Tasha W., East Bluff

Battery died in the hospital parking garage after a night shift. They told me the price on the phone, showed up when they said, and had me running in ten minutes. No tow, no upsell.
  • Mike and Jen D., Washington

Our AWD minivan quit on I-74. The driver explained why it had to go on the flatbed instead of being dragged, took pictures of the whole van and had it at our mechanic before he opened.
  • Carlos R., Pekin

Slid into the ditch on a snowy back road. They pulled me out with a winch, checked my tires and steering and I drove home. Cost less than I was ready to pay.
  • Ashley K., Peoria Heights

Locked my keys in the car with the engine running and my dog inside. They got there fast and opened the door without a mark on it. Very kind about the whole thing.
  • Dan F., Morton

We run four box trucks and they handle every breakdown. One call, one invoice at the end of the month, and the trucks show up at our shop in one piece.
  • Brenda S., Bartonville

Rear-ended on Adams Street. They cleaned up the road, held my car in storage for two days while insurance sorted it out and helped me get my things out of the trunk.

East Peoria Towing FAQs

How fast can you get to East Peoria?

Usually fast, since East Peoria is the closest town we serve, about 3 miles from downtown Peoria across the river. Bridge traffic and snow can still slow a truck down. Dispatch gives you an honest ETA on the phone and sends a text if it slips.

How much does it cost to tow from East Peoria to a Peoria shop?

Usually $95 to $150 in 2026. Most East Peoria addresses are 3 to 5 road miles from a downtown Peoria shop, and the hook-up price already covers the first 5 to 7 miles. A flatbed for an all-wheel-drive car can add up to $25. We quote it before dispatch.

Can you tow my car from the Levee District if I'm not there?

Yes. If we can get to the car and you have the paperwork, like the title or registration plus a signed note, you don't have to be there. Tell dispatch where the car is parked and where the keys are. Our driver photographs all four sides before loading, and sends them if you ask.

What should I do if I break down on Camp Street?

Get as far right as you safely can and turn the hazards on. Four highways share Camp Street, and the signs can say east and west on the same pole, so skip the route number. Give dispatch the closest cross street or business instead. That's what gets the truck to you fastest.
